Yeredeme: ( translates as "Help ourselves")
Yeredeme is a training centre for young single
mothers. The trainees are provided with schooling
and a trade/ craft, including jam- & jewellery-making.
The centre operates a small restaurant staffed by the
trainees, and a shop, where they sell clothes,
jewellery and jams, as well as various teas &
Shea Butter, (a natural skin cream).
It is linked to Hotel Doux Reves, across the square.Fonds Pour l’Education
This is an educational grant scheme,
funded by voluntary donations, which
grant-aids individual children to avail of second- or
third-level education. At present there are twenty
students being supported in educational programmes.
A number of beneficiaries have gone on to study
accountancy and others have gained employment in
Govt. departments.
