The band played together mostly in Westport in the late 80's & early 90's, although there were some other rather famous gigs beyond the town boundaries. They played some particularly popular gigs in the Railway Hotel, in Westport, where there was lotsa dancing and craic. No less a luminary than John Prine joined them for one of his own songs on one occasion.
The A Capella group, "Anything Goes", has had different existences, with different members over a similar period, and had a number of aliases,
including "Flash in the Pan" and "Play it by Ear". The group sang at various venues, around Mayo and in Sligo on occasion as well.
The line-up of " Anything Goes" is, Cathy Waddell, Jenny Bernard,
Elizabeth Healy, Margo Carmichael & Maura Comaskey.
Both groups are coming together for the first time in
a long time, and there is already a high level of
interest in the concert, with people coming from
around the country and even some from
Paris & London, to be there!
A cameo gig. Not to be Missed!
