URGENT! 27th February 2012. Armed Conflict in North Mali from 17th January 2012, & violent Recriminations in the capital, Bamako, caused huge exodus of Tuareg & other groups from Mali. They have fled either into the desert, or to neighbouring countries. UNHCR / Red Cross currently estimate ~130,000 affected.
Many living in Northern Mali were already suffering from food shortage/ hunger/drought, and have now fled to areas , eg in Western Niger, where there is already threatened famine. Please see links above for information. Donations urgently needed!! Please share what you can, even a little can do a lot!
